DOCUMENTARY FILM MAKER DREW STONE TO DIRECT "THE NEW YORK HARDCORE CHRONICLES FILM"

CLICK ABOVE TO WATCH TRAILER

PRESS RELEASE FROM STONE FILMS:

NEW YORK, January 21, 2015 -- Director Drew Stone (xxx All Ages xxx The Boston Hardcore Film, "Who the F*$@ Is That Guy?" The Fabulous Journey of Michael Alago) is slated to direct “The New York Hardcore Chronicles Film.” Centered on the community and culture of the iconic New York hardcore music scene, the film will be produced by Stone Films NYC for a 2016 release.

"My intention is not to make a film documenting the history of New York hardcore, but to tell the story in an episodic format with the thread of New York hardcore running through it,” said Stone. “For example, the ‘Spray Paint the Walls’ segment explores the connection between graffiti and New York hardcore. In ‘The Return to the A7,’ Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma of Agnostic Front re-visit the legendary A7 club, the birthplace of New York hardcore, for the first time in over 30 years.”

"I'm really looking forward to this film, as a fan of the hardcore genre/culture in general, and of course the special New York hardcore faction we're all part of," said Freddy Cricien (Madball). "I go way back with Drew Stone -- he actually filmed Madball's very first video, and I consider him a friend. He has the credibility, the experience and -- most importantly -- the passion to deliver something super authentic, which for me and I'm sure a lot of folks, is most important of all!"

There will be a 20-minute "Excerpt screening" as part of a book release party for NYHC New York Hardcore 1980-1990 by Tony Rettman at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1 at the Grand Victory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The Nihilistics, The High & The Mighty & Altercation will be playing the event.

Drew Stone is an American film director, producer, editor and musician. His works include music videos, commercials, documentary films and television. He founded the New York City-based film production company Stone Films NYC and played an active role in the early stages of American hardcore.

AGNOSTIC FRONT RELEASES NEW INFO ON THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM "THE AMERICAN DREAM DIED"

FROM AGNOSTIC FRONT'S PRESS RELEASE:

New York hardcore pioneers AGNOSTIC FRONT have announced the details for their upcoming eleventh album, “The American Dream Died”.

Commented singer Roger Miret: "We chose this title because we want to open up people's eyes to what's going on in this country. We have a lot to say. Not everyone realizes that our government and the people who run this country are so corrupt, greedy and ruthless. We need to educate the ones we reach. We're losing our values. We address real issues from full blown corruption and scandals to unjust police abuse and brutality. Everything's we stood for as a country is going down the drain. But we still somewhat have our freedom of speech. We're expressing it all through this record while we can."

“The American Dream Died” was produced by MADBALL singer Freddy Cricien and engineered, mixed and mastered by Paul Miner (H2O, Terror) and will be released April 4 (Europe) and April 7 (N. America), 2015 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The record will feature guest appearances by Cricien, Toby Morse (H2O) and Lou Koller (SICK OF IT ALL).

LONDON'S 12 BAR CLUB CLOSES & NEW RUCKTION RECORDS RELEASES

"OUR VERSION OF CBGB'S"

London’s 12 Bar Club located on Denmark Street and also home to many Rucktion Records events has officially closed delivering a kick in the gut to the UKHC scene. The venue itself also hosted various punk, rockabilly and underground styles of music and was originally built in 1635 and served as a stable in its earliest stages, later becoming a forge and then even later a carpenters shop. Rucktion Records’ and Knuckledust frontman Pierre described the small club that held about 150 people as “their version of CBGB’s”. The club will now move (in name only) to Phibbers on Holloway Road in North London to hopefully start a new legacy. New release out now on Ruction is a Tirade/Proven split EP. On the way from Rucktion is: Diction full length, Surge Of Fury full length, Tempers Fray EP, and new signings including Idle Hands, Protect Ya Neck and Cold Hard Truth along with Bun Dem Out in the studio recording for a new EP.  Check out all things Rucktion via their page:
