A MESSAGE TO ALL FROM TERROR'S SCOTT VOGEL

Terror has been around now for almost 13 years and soon will be releasing their new album “The Twenty Fifth Hour” which is also their 7th. The band has been looked at a little more closely in the last month or two when their frontman Scott Vogel hurt his back right before they left for a month plus European tour which started on June 19th and runs through July 27th. The injury was bad enough where their bass player David Wood (who also sings for Down To Nothing) is filling in on vocals during this tour. On top of that the band also has pulled out of the “Life & Death Tour” which is slated to kick off on August 6th and runs throughout the United States until August 31st. “The Life & Death Tour” features Bane, Turnstile, Backtrack, Mizery, Forced Order and Heavy Chains. With all this going on I reached out to Scott Vogel, Terror’s frontman and asked him to write a “what’s up with your band” kind of deal and this is what he came up with…. Take it away Scott.

And check out their new video for "Bad Signs".

I've been asked a lot over the last few weeks what it's like to be home while Terror is in Europe touring. The best way to put it is it's great for 23 hours out of the day but when the hour hits when they are on stage it feels very strange to be honest.  If only there was a way to be home doing the things you love with the people you love with all your stuff surrounding you and teleport in and out of the venue for the set. But honestly we tour so fucking much and as a band we have a really good bond that I know it's going well and was a necessity. I don't have an ego that says you can't and won't do this without me. Canceling shows and tours straight up sucks.

With the release of our new record a few weeks away most all the other things in Terror world are in a great place. We are super happy with the record. I would say it's the hardest hitting and most stripped down Terror we've heard in a long time. I think out of the 14 songs only two are over two minutes. No producer. No pipe dreams. Just a raw and aggressive Terror record that is a lot more dark and personal then it is a hardcore pride record. “Keepers Of The Faith” and “Live By The Code” where more in that direction and it was time to shift gears and look at a different  side of life. Hunting down Tom Soares was not easy but with some help from AJ Novello we were able to have him mix the record and his legendary sound is very present on this record.

Terror is very blessed to still be here, and we don't take that for granted. We have been touring all over the world and always have people showing us love, making sure we are set and kids give us their energy at our shows year after year. Everyone in this band believes in this community and movement. That is for sure. And it's a very cool thing. David is the youngest member and he's 33 I think?  Everyone in Terror is in other bands. Some doing zines. Doing labels. Recording bands. Always going to shows when we are home to support and still feel and believe in this scene of ours. That’s really rare to find and again I feel blessed to be part of this. We'll be in South America in November and between Thanksgiving and Christmas well be doing a US tour with a bunch of cool hardcore bands to support the release of “The Twenty Fifth Hour”.   ‘

SINGAPORE'S OVERTHROWN SIGN WITH INNER STRENGTH RECORDS

WATCH NEW TEASER VIDEO WHICH INCLUDES INTERVIEW WITH PRODUCER DON FURY

Singapore’s Overthrown have signed with Inner Strength Records and will have a new 5 song EP titled “Walk The Talk” out on September 25th. The new EP’s recording has a cool back story to it in that the bands guitarist traveled from Singapore to Don Fury’s Troy, NY studio where Jai not only laid down the guitar tracks but also the bass and drums. Jai’s brother Ratchy who sings for Overthrown then did the vocals back in Singapore and everything was sent back to Troy for Don Fury to put the final touches on production wise. Check out this 2 minute video where Don talks about the unique production process. We also get a sneak peek at the track “Always Try” from that new EP.

CRUMBSUCKERS TO DIGITALLY RELEASE PRE- “LIFE OF DREAMS” MATERIAL VIA

DEAD CITY RECORDS ON JULY 24TH

Dead City Records has announced that they are teaming up with the Crumbsuckers to release some of the bands oldest and most rare recordings in digital format on July 24th. Compiled by their original singer Dave Brady, Dead City is proud to present these early rare recordings available digitally for the first time ever. The three releases are:

“The Demos” feature early versions of songs which later appeared on their debut album “Life Of Dreams”. Like most bands in the 80’s, the Crumbsuckers hit the studio and recorded music to release on tape cassettes which were traded and sold. These demos became stuff of legend and were almost impossible to find after the release of their debut album. “The Demos” features rare versions of songs never released on anything else.

“The Basement Tapes” feature early and alternate versions of songs recorded in their rawest form. These tapes were meant for the band’s ears only and were recorded at various early practice sessions. We were lucky to have original vocalist Dave Brady dig these up. “The Basement Tapes” also feature songs that never appeared on anything else.

“Live at CBGB 1984-1985” features great quality early live recordings from the CBGB’s soundboard. The Crumbsuckers were a young band having fun on stage in a new hardcore scene. So many bands have graced the legendary stage at CBGBs, but none whipped the crowd into a frenzy more than the Crumbsuckers. These are the earliest off-the board recordings.

Available at most major download sites (i-Tunes, Amazon, etc) on July 24, 2015. To purchase Crumbsuckers merchandise (CDs, shirts, stickers, etc.) visit:

MAD AT THE WORLD RECORDS TO RE-ISSUE EARLY SAND IN THE FACE RECORDINGS

Mad At The World Records has announced an upcoming reissue of one of New Jersey’s earliest hardcore bands…Sand In The Face. This LP compiles the very earliest recordings of Montville, New Jersey’s Sand in the Face. The demos, largely recorded at Boonton, NJ’s Mix-O-Lydian Studios, features the band’s pre-LP line-up, containing a young, pre-Chrome Crank Peter “Aaron” Wegele on bass, who also contributes extensive liner notes for the record. Note that Mix-O-Lydian is the studio that gave us the Misfits’ “Walk Among Us” not much earlier. Sand In The Face were one of the first wave of New Jersey’s hardcore bands, and contemporaries with the likes of Adrenalin OD and Bedlam. Mike Judge, the singer of late-'80s New York hardcore band Judge, attended the same high school as members of Sand In The Face and credits them with inspiring him to start his own band.  Musically, it’s disaffected suburban teenage thrash of the best variety. If you’re familiar with the likes of Buy Our Records or Mutha Records, you know the pedigree. Limited to a one-time pressing of 600 copies. Click the image above to pre-order.
